May 19 - Standing Into the Wind
This is a Shire mare. The Shire breed is a draft horse and known for its gentleness and strength. They were used on the farm and for pulling heavy loads. The Shire is seeing a resurgence in popularity both as a working animal and a riding horse.
I captured this mare on a very windy day - you can see the hay stuck in her main.
